i got the idea from a book about personal attire: dresses mostly; but, i think other things too: shoes, scarves, gloves, etc. each item was described with tidbits of other issues, serious issues, RELATIONSHIP ISSUES.

one page would have a crayon drawing of a blue dress and on the facing page would be a description of things: the place where it was purchased, price, any special features not obvious in the drawing, and then there would be a few words about HIM or HER or IT.
